Yellow leaves can mean too much water, too little light, root rot or spider mites, and each needs a different fix. In a 45-minute video call, horticulturist Marcus Bell looks at your plant with you, live and from your photos, works out what’s wrong and, within two business days, sends a written diagnosis and treatment plan.
Before the call you send photos of the whole plant, the damaged leaves top and bottom, the soil and the spot where it lives, with a note on how you water and feed it. On the call Marcus may ask you to slide the plant out of its pot, scratch a stem or check under the leaves with a flashlight; most diagnoses come from a few simple checks like these. It works for houseplants and container plants, and for shrubs and small trees you can reach with your phone.
Some problems can’t be settled on video. Several fungal and bacterial diseases look alike and need a lab sample, and a large tree with a dead limb or a leaning trunk needs a certified arborist on site. When that’s the case, Marcus tells you where to send a sample or who to call, instead of guessing. And not every plant can be saved; when one can’t, you’ll hear that too, along with whether it’s worth taking cuttings.

Send photos and a few details
Before the call, send photos of the whole plant, the damaged leaves top and underside, the stems, the soil surface and the pot or planting spot, plus how often you water, when you last repotted or fed it, and when the trouble started.
The call
Marcus looks at the plant with you through your phone camera and asks you to try a few checks, like sliding it out of its pot or looking under the leaves with a flashlight.
